학교소개

조지안 컬리지는 온타리오 주 내에서 Co-op 프로그램을 제공하기 시작한 최초의 교육기관으로, 다양한 업계의 서도기업 고용주들과 파트너십을 맺고 있는 캐나다 내 최대규모의 Co-op컬리지 중 하나로 꼽힙니다. 현재 조지안 컬리지에서는 11,000명의 풀타임 학생들과 1,000명의 국제학생들에게 Diploma과정, Degree과정, Graduate Certificate과정을 제공하고 있으며 본 과정들을 모두 이수한 후에는 파트너십으로 연계되어 있는 대학교로 편입할 수 있는 기회도 제공되고 있습니다. 조지안 컬리지는 Orilla, Owen Sound, South Georgian Bay, Midland, Musoka Bracebridge, Orangeville 총 6개의 캠퍼스를 운영 중입니다.

지역소개

조지안 컬리지는 토론토에서 차로 약 45분 걸리는 Barrie에 위치해 있습니다. 배리는 심코 호수 주변에 멋진 해변가가 둘러 쌓여 있는 도시로, 온타리오 주 내 가장 유명한 관광도시 중 하나입니다. 배리는 20여 개 이상의 스키 리조트와 연중 다양한 엑티비티를 즐길 수 있는 최적의 장소에 위치해 있습니다. 대도시처럼 복잡하거나 한국인이 많지 않지만 대도시에 비해 생활비가 저렴하며 토론토와 가까워 생활 편의시설도 잘 갖추어진 곳입니다.

*Co-op / Internship Programs
조지안 컬리지에서는 국내 및 국제 학생들을 위하여 약 50여 개의 co-op 프로그램을 운영 중입니다. 학생들은 디플로마나 학위를 따기 위하여 반드시 co-op 과정을 거쳐야 합니다. 만약 3년 과정의 프로그램을 듣는다면 실질적으로 학생들은 2년 동안 이론 공부를 하고 1년 동안 실제 취업하여 일을 하는 것과 마찬가지 입니다. 조지안 컬리지에는 국제학생들이 좀더 손쉽게 co-op을 경험할 수 있도록 컨설팅을 제공합니다. 이력서 쓰기부터 인터뷰, 직업 찾기, 커버레터 작성하기 등 개인의 특성에 맞는 상담을 제공하며 학생들이 캐나다 직업 시장에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 도와줍니다. co-op과정 중에 학생들은 시간당 $10.25 ~ $22의 페이를 받게 됩니다.

EAP 프로그램

조지안 컬리지의 English for Academic Purposes(EAP)프로그램은 컬리지 공부에 반드시 필요한 영어교육과 함께 캐나다 내에서 생활 및 업무 환경에서 필요한 필수적인 스킬을 배울 수 있는 프로그램입니다.
