Social Insurance Number 는
9자리수로 소득세, 고용보험, 노인연금 또는 기타 정부 프로그램 운영 목적에 의해 주어지는 번호로서 우리나라의 주민등록증과 같은 사회보장 카드 입니다.
 최초 랜딩시 SIN 신청 서류를 받게 되며 만일 받지 못한 경우에는 인근 Human
Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) offices 사무실에서 받을수
있습니다.
뉴브런스윅의 경우에는 전화로 신청하시는 것도 가능하다고 하네요.
 신청 비용: 최초 발급시에는 신청비는 없으며 교체시에는 C$10을 납부해야 합니다.
구비 서류: 여권, 랜딩 페이퍼(Record or landing) or PR카드(소지자에 한함)
