현재 캐나다는 유아 교육에 대한 중요성을 인식하고 있으며 이에 따라 다양한 어린이 교육 프로그램에 경험과 지식을 갖춘 인력이 절실히 요구되고 있습니다. ECE 프로그램은 (The Early Childhood Care and Education) 학생들로 하여금 Preschool 또는 Daycare center에서 직접 일할 수 있는 자격증과 경력을 제공하는 프로그램이라고 할 수 있습니다.
본 프로그램을 졸업한 학생들은 라이센스를 소지한 Preschool이나 Daycare center, 또는 특별 교육 아동 커뮤니티 센터의 어시스턴트나 관리자, 또는 기타 각종 유아 교육 관련 컨설턴트로 일할 수 있습니다
Early Childhood Care and Education Certificate (유아 교육 자격증)
이 자격증은 10개월의 Full-time 수업 프로그램과 24개월의 Part-time 수업프로그램 중 하나를 선택하여 이수 하실 수 있습니다.
Infant & Toddler Certificate (영아 교육 자격증)
ECE프로그램을 졸업자로써 영아 교육 프로그램을 통과해야 합니다.
Special Needs Certificate (특별 아동 자격증)
ECE 프로그램과 영아 교육 프로그램을 졸업한 사람에 한하며 특별 아동 프로그램을 이수해야 합니다.
The Early Childhood Care and Education Certificate을 받기 위해서는 BC주에 등록이 되어 있는 기관에서 500시간 이상의 실전 경험이 있어야 합니다.
본 프로그램은 3년 또는 4년 과정으로 University of Victoria로 편입이 가능하며 GPA는 3.0/4.0 이상이어야 합니다. 입학 자격 선착순 25명에 한해서 ECCE 프로그램을 제공하고 있습니다. 신청자는 고등학교 졸업자 이상 그리고 칼리지 레벨의 쓰기 능력과 학문 능력이 필요 하고 최근 2년 중에 40시간 이상을 BC주 내의 라이센스를 소지한 유아 관련 기관에서 일한 경력이 있거나 자원 봉사를 한 적이 있어야 합니다. 또한 실습 통과를 위해서는 범죄 사실 조회도 통과해야 합니다. Full-time 프로그램은 강도 높은 과정으로 이루어져 있으므로 1년 이상의 칼리지 또는 대학교 과정을 이수한자를 추천하고 있습니다. 본 프로그램을 등록 하기 위해서는 다음의 과목을 먼저 이수해야 합니다. 3. 인터뷰에서는 자신의 이력서 및 3명의 추천 편지를 지참해야 하고, 쓰기 시험도 봐야 합니다.
4. 반드시 읽기 시험을 통과해야 합니다. 5. 인터뷰 후, 칼리지에서 요구하는 메디컬 리포트 양식을 우편으로 받으실것입
니다. 병원에 직접 가서 신체검사를 받고, 의사의 소견서를 받아 그것을 제출해야 합니다.(결핵 관련 포함)
